Hatteras Island’s Beach Pharmacies are hosting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Hatteras Village Civic Center on Saturday, April 10.

The clinic will be administering the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Only 300 doses are available. The clinic is open to adults 18 years of age or older.

Register for vaccination by calling Beach Pharmacy in Hatteras at 252-986-2400 or Beach Pharmacy in Avon at 252-995-3811. This is not a walk-in clinic.

Ocracoke Health Center and Engelhard Medical Center are hosting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic April 13, 2021, for patients 18 and up. No appointment is required, but anyone wishing to get a vaccine will have to be registered as a patient of the facility. Registration materials will be available at the event. The Moderna vaccine, which is a two-dose series separated by 28 days, will be used. Each facility has a limited number of vaccines available on a first come, first served basis. Ocracoke will offer vaccinations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or until vaccines run out. Engelhard will offer vaccinations from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. or until vaccines run out.

For the Martin-Tyrrell-Washington District Health, call 252-793-3023 to sign up for COVID vaccine clinics at a health department location in Columbia, Plymouth and Williamston. The district is scheduling appointments for patients 18 and older.

Call local health departments to schedule first dose vaccine appointments for Camden County (252-338-4460), Currituck County (252-232-2271) and Pasquotank County (252-338-4400). A second dose clinic will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7 at Camden Intermediate School, 123 Noblitt Rd., Camden.

North Carolina COVID-19 numbers – On April 5, the number of new cases was 1,054, down from 1,382 on Sunday and the 2,076 cases reported Friday, April 2.

Hospitalizations of folks with coronavirus now number 907. On March 17, those in hospitals due to COVID-19 slipped under 1,000.

12,173 North Carolinians have died from coronavirus since March 2020. That number marks 37 additional coronavirus-related deaths as reported Monday, April 5.

Statewide COVID-19 vaccinations will available for all April 7.

In North Carolina, 38.3% of the adult population is partially vaccinated and 25.2% are fully vaccinated, representing a quarter of the state’s adult population.

Nationally, as of April 5, USA Facts puts the percentage of people fully vaccinated at 17.74% and 32.76% partially vaccinated.

Dare County – For Dare County on April 5, the county’s health division is reporting a cumulative total of 3,000 positive cases. Of that total, just over two-thirds are residents.

On April 5, the county reported 48 people with active positive cases. All are in home isolation. No one is hospitalized. No new deaths have been registered.

Dare County is slightly ahead of the state totals. On the state’s dashboard, Dare has 40.8% partially vaccinated and 29.9 percent fully vaccinated.

Hyde County – As of April 1, Hyde County had two active coronavirus cases.

Vaccination appointments for all people 18 years and older can be made by calling 252-926-4474.

In Hyde County, 43.8% of adults are partially vaccinated and 28.1% are fully vaccinated, according to the state’s COVID-19 dashboard.

Tyrrell County – In Tyrrell County, two active cases of coronavirus exist in the county as of April 1. No new cases were reported. Six individuals have died in the county due to coronavirus.

The percentage of partially vaccinated people is 28.3% and fully vaccinated, 21.3%.

Camden, Currituck, Pasquotank counties – Albemarle Regional Health Services has posted the following case information as of April 5:

Camden: 620 lab-confirmed cases, with no active cases. Camden County has lost five people to the coronavirus. In Camden, 24.4% of adults are partially vaccinated as of April 5. Some 14.6% are fully vaccinated, according to the state’s dashboard.

Currituck: 1,462 total lab-confirmed cases are counted. Some 11 cases are active. Currituck County has lost 15 people to coronavirus. In Currituck, the percentage of people partially vaccinated is 25.6%. The state’s dashboard reports 15% are fully vaccinated.

Pasquotank: 3,189 lab-confirmed cases. Active cases number 19. COVID-related deaths in the county number 79 people. In Pasquotank, the percentage of adults partially vaccinated is 29 .1%. The state’s dashboard reports 22% are fully vaccinated.
