Dare County Arts Council has announced a special art exhibit celebrating its collaborative program with The Outer Banks Hospital called Expressions of Hope & Healing. The exhibit, Expressions of the Heart, features new heart-themed works by over two dozen artists.
Expressions of the Heart will be on display for the month of February. The purpose of the exhibit is to create awareness for DCAC’s free arts education opportunities available to residents of eastern North Carolina who have been impacted by cancer.
“The inspiring work offered in this show has clearly come from many hearts – broken, healing, caring hearts. I am grateful to be able to bring these amazing artists together and grateful for the Outer Banks Hospital’s financial support,” said Fay Davis Edwards, creative director of Expressions.
Dare County Art Council’s Expressions of Hope and Healing program is made possible by a Community Benefit Grant from The Outer Banks Hospital. “We are pleased to see the progress that the Dare County Arts Council has made utilizing the funds from The Outer Banks Hospital’s Community Benefit Grants program,” said Jennifer Schwartzenberg, director of community outreach and development for The Outer Banks Hospital. “We always have the best interests in mind for our cancer patients and their families. This partnership with the Arts Council has allowed for individuals affected by cancer to have an opportunity to share their stories through art and narrative. We are grateful to be a part of this work.”
The Expressions program is open to all those touched by cancer in any capacity – cancer patients, their family members, friends, caretakers, cancer survivors and local oncology healthcare professionals. For more information, visit DareArts.org/EXPRESSIONS or call 252-473-5558.
Expressions is a part of the Arts Council’s Power of Art initiative, which provides art and creative experiences for those in our community with special needs.
Dare County Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization dedicated to encouraging the arts in Dare County through advocacy, enrichment and opportunity.
