Four individuals were selected by committee to represent Beaufort County Community College at the state level as part of the Phi Theta Kappa All-USA Community College Academic Team.

This award recognizes high achieving two-year college students who demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society. As part of their recognition, each student is awarded a $250 scholarship.

In 2019, student Leah Beth Warren went on to become the first BCCC student to place on the national team.

The four students recognized are:

Allie Cabacar, who is working toward an associate in applied arts in medical office administration and Associate in Science. She plans to earn a bachelor of science in health service management and a master’s degree in public health to work as a healthcare coordinator.

Edward Monter Estrada, who is working toward an associate in applied science in automotive systems technology. He plans to open his own automotive service and repair shop.

Taylor Moore, who is working toward an associate in science and an associate in arts. She plans to earn a bachelor of science in psychology with a plan to open a clinic in Washington.

Georgina Wooden is working toward an associate in applied science in cosmetology. She plans to open her own salon.
