The Outer Banks Woman’s Club is seeking sponsors and donors for the Angel Gift Program, now in its 33rd year. The club partners in a collaborative effort with the Dare County Department of Health & Human Services, whose role is the screening of applicants.

Residents interested in applying for assistance through the Angel Gift Program need to apply by phone by calling Dare County Department of Health and Human Services, Social Services Division, Manteo Campus at 252-475-5500. Applications will be taken by phone from October 19 through November 6. This is the only application period.

Families eligible for Angel Gift Program who live north of Oregon Inlet must be below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, however unique situations – especially COVID-19 related – will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, applicants must provide proof of income and a completed application. Due to increased participation, priority will be given to eligible families who were not assisted last year. Additional families will be included, as funds permit, on a first come, first served basis.

The continued success of this program would not be possible without the support and funding provided by businesses, organizations and individuals from Dare County and beyond.
