Cape Hatteras National Seashore posted a Seashore Beach Conditions Update around 11 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2020.
The update noted that:
– Most beach areas remain inaccessible.
– Driving on the beach is not recommended until conditions improve.
– Walking on some areas of the beach will prove difficult as the sand is very soft from being wet for so long.
– Life-threatening rip currents are forecast along all Outer Banks beaches.
CHNS stated that the photos accompanying the update were taken ahead of Monday morning’s high tide.
