Destiney D. Akers, of Kill Devil Hills and Portsmouth, Va., died unexpectedly on September 16, 2020 at the age of 32.

Destiney is survived by parents Susan Renee Belvin and Dallas Griffith; husband Andy Coder; children Avah Akers, RJ Setford and Michael Coder; sister Amber Shannon (Cleaver); grandmother Brenda Mitchussion; a niece; two nephews and the Carlton family as well as other friends and family.

Destiney was predeceased by stepfather Rick Belvin and her great-grandmother Hazel A. Parker.

Destiney was born in Portsmouth, Va. September 25, 1988 to her mother, also from Portsmouth. She had attended First Flight High School. Her happiest times were spent with her children.
