Viola O’Neal Midgett, 75, of Wanchese, died April 22, 2020 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A native of Buxton, she was born September 8, 1944 to the late Sally Rainy O’Neal and Randolph G. O’Neal Sr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Horace W. Midgett Jr.; brother David O’Neal Sr; and son Leonard Earl Midgett, who died at birth.

Viola is survived by sons Horace W. Midgett III and William “Billy” Midgett (Nichole); grandsons Jonathan and Jackob; sister Margaret “Micky” Gibbs Parker; and brother Randolph “Randy” O’Neal Jr.

A private graveside service will be held at Manteo Cemetery.
