In Currituck County, candidates for Board of Commissioners seats have been selected. All are Republican and all are unopposed in the General Election.

These are unofficial results.

In District 1, incumbent Board of Commissioners Chairman Bob White, from Corolla, was unopposed in the primary.

For District 2, incumbent Selina B. Jarvis from Harbinger won her race over Steven W. Craddock from Grandy. Jarvis drew 2,046 votes, or 54.5%. Craddock won 1,708 votes, or 45.5%.

For District 4, incumbent Paul Beaumont from Shawboro squared off against Stuart Innes from Currituck in the Republican primary. In a close election, Beaumont gathered 1,915 votes, or 50.73%, and Innes drew 1,860, or 49.27%.

On Tuesday, March 10, at 9 a.m., the Currituck Board of Elections will meet for a preliminary consideration of an election protest filed against Stuart Innes. The board will decide if a hearing is needed. The protest was not filed by the election winner Paul Beaumont.

In the three-way race for the at-large commissioner seat, Mary (Kitty) Etheridge from Shawboro retained her seat. Etheridge won 1,761 votes, or 46.09%. Fred Whiteman from Moyock garnered 1,671 votes, or 43.71% ad Daryl Lee Hood from Grandy won 391, or 10.23%.

For Register of Deeds, Denise Hall from Moyock has retained her office. Hall won 2,125 votes or 47.74% and defeated Christy L. McCord, also from Moyock, who drew 1,757, or 45.26%.
