On Feb. 24, Dare County Schools Superintendent John Farrelly announced an extension of the school year.
“In order to gain an instructional day back, we have amended our 2019-2020 school calendars to extend the school year out by one day. The last day of the school year will now be Thursday, June 11 (as opposed to June 10),” wrote Farrelly in an email.
