The Manteo Planning Board has reappointed four members to the town’s Preservation and Architectural Review Committee (PARC). Sarah Benson, Amy Bennett and Courtney Schultz, whose terms were expiring, were reappointed to four year terms.

Jackie Meyers, who had missed two meetings, was also reappointed to a term that expires in 2022. In Manteo, if a board member misses two consecutive meetings, they must be reappointed. The Planning Board was satisfied with Meyers’ explanation of why two meetings were missed and the desire to continue serving.

The final appointment to the PARC committee was for the appointment of a Planning Board member on the committee. Sherry Wickstrom, Planning Board chairperson, was selected to fill the ex-officio appointment.

The Preservation and Architectural Review Committee reviews and makes recommendations for plans for structural additions, alterations, demolition, reconstruction, restoration or new construction within the Manteo Historic District.
