We track the shipping of our packages, the steps we walk per day and our email inboxes. We track the dollars we spend in order to stay within our budget and so much more. Lists and forms plus handy apps have transformed our world into easy accountability, if we choose it. Kitchen timers keep us from burning dinner and we can even track the number of minutes we spend talking on the phone. At any given time, we can reflect and review on how our time and money is spent. All these things can be helpful but also very illuminating about where our time goes.

it is said that it is more important to build treasures up in Heaven than it is to build treasures on this earth. Have we given God His due? Are we making time and giving of ourselves and riches to help grow His Kingdom? Are we using our time and resources to bring the Light of God’s Salvation to others, so they can have a life of eternity too? How do we do that you may ask? This is what I’ve been taught. Start by prayerfully asking God to bring one person to mind. Someone that doesn’t know God. Or perhaps they felt betrayed by God when their prayer wasn’t answered their way and they have fallen. Surprisingly, it could be someone in our own family. Pray for them daily, without ceasing. Ask God to open their hearts and minds to desire to know God personally. Invite them to church or to a Bible study, even though they may decline the invitation at first. Remembering all along that we are representing God with our actions, words and demeanor. As we pray and build our relationship stronger with this person, they may begin to show trust, and when we speak, they often listen. From experience, it might take many tries and a lot of prayer, but God will help behind the scenes. That we can count on. He is tracking our efforts and watching us expand His Kingdom. That is where the real treasure lies.
