Jennette’s Pier has been named as the Dare County Friends of Youth (FOY) mentoring program’s 2020 Sponsor of the Year, in recognition of their outstanding program support.
FOY program coordinator Shannon Glaser recently presented a certificate of appreciation to Jennette’s Pier educator Jenna Livernois, education curator Christin Brown and director Mike Remige. For the past several years, Jennette’s Pier has offered scholarships to youths involved in the Friends of Youth program, giving them the opportunity to attend one of the pier’s fun and educational summer camps.
The mission of Friends of Youth program is to place at-risk youth between the ages of 6-17 with caring adult volunteers who serve as role models and friends. Throughout 2020, the Friends of Youth program will be celebrating its 30th anniversary.
