UUCOB art show features work of John and Eileen Tullner

Published 10:43 pm Friday, December 6, 2019

John and Eileen Tullner, husband and wife artists, will exhibit their photographs and watercolors at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks (UUCOB) Meeting House during the months of December 2019 and January 2020.

John, an award winning photographer, began taking black and white photos with a 35 mm Nikon, but currently utilizes a digital camera in his work. A retired dentist, John has been inspired by the Florida “nature coast” and, more recently, subjects from nature in both Manteo and Kilmarnock, Va., where the couple reside. With his wife, John shares a small business, Jet Wildlife Art, to market their artwork.

Eileen, when not doting on her dogs and grandchildren in retirement, is primarily a watercolorist, photo realist, often using John’s photographs as the inspiration for her work. She loves the mystery which comes with the use of watercolors, complicated designs, the effect of light on subject matter and pushing the boundaries of watercolor.
