Louis M. Knoerzer, 92, of Wanchese, died at his home on November 19, 2019. Born in Middletown, NY, he was the son of the late Josephine Weingart Knoerzer and John L. Knoerzer.

Louis served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dolores Knoerzer; daughter Debra DeFelice; son Michael Knoerzer; and several grandchildren, Daniel Sullivan of Kitty Hawk, Laura Knoerzer, Sean, Mark and Kevin Knoerzer, and Brian and Kristen Knoerzer all of New York.

Also known as Uncle Lou by his buddies, Mr. Knoerzer loved to go fishing and boating with his family and friends. He retired to the Outer Banks in 1985, moving from New York.
