2019 Realtor-fest and Tech Fair. 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at R/C Kill Devil Hills Movie Theatre. A day of informative presentations, vendors, food, coffee and more. This event will feature presentations on marketing, social media, customer service, security, and more about topics for REALTORS® and the public. Open to the public.

Peer Support. 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Drop-in group for those battling challenges such as substance abuse and mental health and emotional challenges. Meet with J.D. Rea at Hyde County Behavior Health Building, 1221 Main St., Swan Quarter.

GEM’s Meaningful Days a health aging program. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church.

Painting Canvas-Backed Decoys. Noon to 4 p.m. Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, 59200 Museum Dr., Hatteras. Artist Sam Green demonstrates.

Best of Broadway Get Pinked and More Celebration. 6 to 9 p.m. at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head. The party will include a delicious New York City-inspired menu, beer and wine, DJ music, and the chance to win great door and raffle prizes! Currituck Heritage Festival Bulls & BBQ. 1 to 9 p.m. at Currituck Rural Center. Admission is free. This festival includes the Kansas City Barbeque Society competition and a professional bull riding rodeo. Please call (252) 453-9040 with any questions.

Warners’ North Carolina folk music collection. 2 to 4 p.m. at the Wanchese Community Building, 295 Old School House Road, Wanchese. Admission is free, with a suggested $10 donation.

Carolina Jazz Connection. 7 to 9 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 843 Herbert Perry Road, Kitty Hawk. Larry Reni Thomas, M.A. is a veteran jazz writer/radio announcer/historian. This program consists of a series of interviews, stories and information about the Carolina jazz connection.

Cape Hatteras Surf Fishing Heritage Celebration. Come celebrate the area’s strong surf fishing history at the 1st annual Cape Hatteras Surf Fishing Heritage Celebration. The free event will be held at the Fessenden Center in Buxton, North Carolina.

 

SUNDAY, Nov. 3

10th Annual Shrimp CookOff to benefit Center for Dolphin Research. Noon to 3 p.m. at Ocean Boulevard Bistro & Martini Bar, 4700 N. Virginia Dare Trl., Kitty Hawk. Tickets are $25 at the door, or can be purchased in advance at Ocean Boulevard or Outer Banks Veterinary Hospital.
