Wilber R. Liverman

Wilber Ray Liverman, 85, of Columbia, died October 24, 2019 at Cross Creek Health Care in Swan Quarter.

Born on Tyrrell County, July 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Bingham Branch and Minnie Voliva Liverman. He was married to the former Marietta Swain, who survives.

Mr. Liverman was a retired auto salesman, a member of Malachi Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Malachi Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. David Furlough and Steve Bryan officiated and burial followed in the Cooper Community Cemetery near.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Darryl Liverman of Columbia and Jack Liverman and wife Missi of Columbia; daughter Denise Liverman Jones of Columbia; sister Jackie L. Sorey and husband Cecil of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren Mallory L. Phelps and husband Brandon of Columbia, Annie Liverman Hopkins and husband Blake and Alex Liverman; two great-grandchildren and a step-great grandchild.

Preceding him in death are brothers Curtis Liverman, Bernice Liverman, Jack Liverman, Francis Liverman, Bingham B. Liverman Jr. and Joe Liverman; sisters Naomie L. Brickhouse, Mary L. Swearinger and Sarah L. Kimmel.

Memorials are suggested to Tyrrell County Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. P. O. Box 45, Columbia, N,C. 27925.

The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the funeral beginning at 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church and other times at the home.
