Charles Douglas Reid

Charles Douglas Reid, 74, passed away peacefully at his residence in New Albany, MS surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.

Charles was born on March 15, 1945 in Washington, NC the son of the late John and Ada Harris Midgette. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Eunice Perry Reid. He is also survived by his loving daughters, Angie Reid (Les, Fiancé) of Manteo, NC and Christy Grant (Jason) of New Albany, MS. His precious grandchildren, Adam Slade of Coinjock, NC and Shelby and Abby Grant of New Albany, MS were his pride and joy.

Charles proudly served his county in the U.S. Army, was a retired electrical engineer, a member of 1st UMC of New Albany & the New Albany American Legion Post #72. He was a multi-talented person who loved making duck decoys and woodworking. He was a private pilot, a past member of the civil air patrol and together with his wife volunteered in the state and national parks.

A celebration of life will be held on Sat., Oct. 12, 2019 at Mt. Carmel UMC in Manns Harbor, NC at 11 a.m.
