Police officer charged with assault on a female

An officer with the Kill Devil Hills Police Department is on administrative leave after he was charged with assault.
On September 30, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office charged Lieutenant Allen Holland with assault on a female. According to Captain Kevin Duprey of DCSO, the alleged incident involving Holland happened on August 4. Holland was off-duty at the time. Duprey said Holland turned himself in and was released on bond.
Other than to say Holland had been placed on non-disciplinary administrative leave, the Kill Devil Hills Police Department has not released further comment or details.
