Craig A. MacFarland was born in Alexandria, Va. on October 10, 1963. He died at home in Manteo on August 27, 2019, at 55.

Survivors include mother Rosalind Gill of Dumfries, Va., sister and brother-in-law Laurie and Michael Waytovich of Charles Town, WV, and wife Nancy Smith of California.

Craig became an Eagle Scout at a young age, graduated from TC Williams High School in 1981 and then went onto Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

His interest was in real estate investing and he traveled around the country with his love and passions in skiing, snowboarding, skydiving, scuba diving, boating, and fishing. He loved his motorcycles and became treasurer of his group in California, “Gold Country Harley Riders.”

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or your local Humane Society.
