There is a high risk for powerful or numerous rip currents, dangerous shore break and longshore currents along all beaches Sunday, September 1.

It is advised to follow lifeguard and ocean rescue personnel directions, comply with red flags and stay out of the water.

The strongest rip currents typically occur in the hours before and after low tide, which will occur around 3:30 p.m. on September 1. If help is needed, call 911.

If caught in a rip current, remain calm. Don’t fight the current. Swim in a direction following the shoreline. When out of the current, swim back to shore. If tired, float or tread water until out of the rip current. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
