Francisca Leonila Zafra Midgett, 86, of Manteo, died July 24, 2019, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Born in Trujillo, Peru on July 8, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Blanca Espino Vallejo de Zafra and Andres Zafra Padilla.

Survivors include sons Edison Chavez and wife Carmen and Cesar Zafra and wife Paola; grandchildren Nicolas, Gloria, Blanca, Bruna, Mateo and Bianca; brothers Jorge Zafra and Horacio Zafra; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives for viewing and visitation on July 27 at Twiford Colony Chapel from 3 until 5 p.m. A catholic funeral will begin at 4:30 p.m. officiated by Deacon Al Hallatt.
