The Adult Drug Recovery Court (ADRC) is holding its first ever Winter Gala on February 6, 2025 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at First Church of Christ, 520 East 10th St. in Washington, N.C. Join District 2 Recovery Court in an evening of celebration, while supporting second chances and community-driven change. This event is being sponsored by the Martin-Tyrrell-Washington Health Department.

ADRC is more than a response to addiction. It is a movement toward transformation that bridges the gap between aspiration and tangible change. By offering a structured program encompassing therapeutic services, accountability, and personal support, they provide participants with tools to rebuild their lives and renew their sense of purpose. Serving five counties, the program impacts individuals, families and entire communities, cultivating a network of recovery, understanding and hope.

With a goal of raising $150,000, the ADRC hopes to ensure that the vital work that the program brings to the districts they serve can endure, evolve, and reach even more individuals. Attendees will hear from several speakers regarding the opioid epidemic and how lives have changed through this integral program. Guest speakers include Dr. Sheila Smith with Next Page Therapeutics; Lisa Gennosa, a family physician assistant, author and public speaker in eastern North Carolina; and Marcia Moore, a local drug and alcohol counselor. ADRC serves Martin, Tyrrell, Washington, Beaufort and Hyde counties.

The gala will also include a silent auction, with exciting items to be won such as travel packages, gift cards and much more.

Tickets are $50 per person, which includes dinner and a beverage, and can be purchased through Kimberly Knight, Recovery Court coordinator, by emailing kimberly.d.knight@nccourts.org.
