On Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025 at 4:27 p.m., the Lower Currituck Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at a singlewide trailer at 130 Holly Cresent in Walnut Island.

One person and a dog made it out of the trailer without injury.

The department’s first unit arrived at 4:30 p.m. and found the trailer fully involved with fire.

Numerous fire departments responded to the call: Crawford, Moyock, Kitty Hawk and Southern Shores. The scene was cleared at 5:59:15.
