Murl Jackson Gibbs, 71, of Scranton, died January 15, 2025, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington. He was born in Beaufort County on June 1, 1953.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on January 20 at the Eunice Chapel Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Sladesville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Scranton. Family will gather with friends at the gravesite immediately following the committal service. Memorial contributions can be made to Eunice Chapel Church of Christ 895 Beulah Rd, Scranton NC 27875.
