The Powerball jackpot continues to grow as it now stands at $303 million for Wednesday’s drawing.
According to a news release from the North Carolina Education Lottery, a winner tonight could claim the jackpot as a $303 million annuity or $132.8 million in cash.
“What a fun choice that would be for a lucky North Carolinian getting to decide how to claim a big jackpot prize,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We are all hoping we get a big winner here tonight who gets to make that decision.”
Even though the jackpot remains up for grabs, players are taking home lots of other prizes playing Powerball. Monday’s drawing produced more than 14,000 winning tickets in North Carolina.
Powerball has gone 16 straight drawings since the last big win occurred in New York on Dec. 7 with a $256 million jackpot.
Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
