Jockey’s Ridge State Park and the OBX Astronomy Club will hold an evening under the stars on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 6-9 p.m. The winter star party will be held at Jockey’s Ridge State Park, 300 W. Carolista Drive in Nags Head.

Telescopes will be set up for public viewing at the visitor center parking area. Table activities for kids will take place in the community room. “Buckle in and let an educational video take you on a trip through space,” noted the event announcement. “We will also be serving hot cocoa!”

Attendees are invited to join in the fun and bring their own equipment. Beginners are encouraged to participate to learn more about the night sky and how to choose the right telescope. This event is free, open to all, and no registration is required. The event may be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

“Let’s celebrate the wonders of the universe together!” stated the announcement.
