Virginia man arrested in Coinjock area following pursuit that began across state line

The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Virginia man following a pursuit that began in across the state line.
According to a Currituck County Sheriff’s Office news release, the agency received a call around 12:40 a.m. on December 25, 2024 from the Chesapeake Police Department about a vehicle pursuit heading into Currituck County from the state line.
A Currituck deputy clocked the vehicle at 100 mph and attempted to stop it. Deputies pursued the vehicle that was driven by Brandon Wade, 32, of Carrsville, Va. “Deputies deployed the stop sticks around the Coinjock area and the vehicle ran off the road shortly after and stopped. At the wreck scene, Wade gave up without incident,” stated the release.
Wade was charged by CCSO with flee/elude arrest, reckless driving, fail to maintain lane and speeding. Virginia charges are pending.
Wade is currently in custody at the Currituck County Detention Center under $100,000 secured bond.
