Scout Schillings joins OBAR as education and communication specialist

The Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® (OBAR) has announced that Scout Schillings has joined the organization as the education and communications specialist.

“Scout brings extensive experience in committee collaboration and event coordination, making her a valuable addition to the OBAR team,” noted the OBAR announcement.

Schillings previously served as grants manager for the Outer Banks Community Foundation, where she played a key role in supporting local nonprofits. In her new role at OBAR, Schillings will focus on enhancing member engagement and professional development. She will serve as OBAR’s education director for the North Carolina Real Estate Commission and act as a liaison to the Education Committee as well as the Property Management Counsil and Young Professionals Network, which are open to all REALTOR® members. Her responsibilities include coordinating educational programs, managing communications, and fostering collaboration between OBAR and its partners.

“Scout’s background and dedication to the Outer Banks make her the perfect fit for this role,” said Willo Kelly, OBAR’s CEO. “Her expertise will strengthen our efforts to provide support to our members.”

Schillings holds a bachelor of arts degree from Meredith College and was recently recognized in the Golden Leaf Scholar Alumni newsletter for her work in rural North Carolina. She also serves as treasurer for OBX Room in the Inn, a nonprofit dedicated to helping the homeless in the area.
