The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has released the November 2024 blotter of crimes for the unincorporated areas of Dare.
Nov. 1: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 39000 block of Cobia Way, Avon. A contractor took money and never completed any work. Under investigation.
Nov. 4: Burglary. 100 block of Maddox Xing, Colington. After too much tequila, the victim’s inebriated friend broke into the victim’s home and assaulted him. The victim declined to prosecute.
Nov. 6: Identity Theft. 50000 block of Treacher Lane, Frisco. Fraudulent insurance policy created with victim’s name. Under investigation.
Burglary. 200 block of C B Daniels Sr. Rd., Wanchese. Jewelry stolen from a safe. Under investigation.
Nov. 10: Larceny. 100 block of Musket Lane, Roanoke Island. Earrings stolen from a residence. Under investigation.
Nov. 11: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 100 block Roanoke Drive, Colington. Wallet, cash, tools, electronics and two Ninja blenders stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Nov. 18: Larceny. 100 block of Ward Lane, Roanoke Island. Victim reporting a ring stolen by an acquaintance approximately seven months ago. Under investigation.
Nov. 19: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 4000 block of Harbor Road, Avon. The victim sent scammers money on prepaid credit cards as part of a Facebook/computer scam. Under investigation.
Larceny. 59000 block of Museum Drive, Hatteras. Money stolen from a donation box.
Larceny. 5000 block of 64 264 Hwy., Manns Harbor. Check stolen, altered and cashed after it was mailed by the victim.
Nov. 26: Assault with Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. 100 block of Etheridge Road, Roanoke Island. Victim stabbed multiple times after a dispute with the suspect. Suspect identified and apprehended in the area by responding deputies.
