College of The Albemarle (COA) has announced that its practical nursing (P.N.) program graduates have achieved a 94% first-attempt pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Passing the NCLEX is required for graduates to obtain licensure as practical nurses.

Robin Harris, COA dean of health sciences and wellness programs, said, “The success of our 2024 Practical Nursing graduates reflects the dedication of our students and the exceptional support of our faculty. Achieving a 94% first-attempt pass rate on the NCLEX exemplifies the quality of education COA provides and our commitment to preparing skilled healthcare professionals.”

“We are incredibly proud of our Practical Nursing graduates and the excellence they have demonstrated,” said Dr. Jack Bagwell, COA president. “Their achievement highlights the strength of COA’s nursing programs in preparing highly qualified graduates to meet the healthcare needs of our community. Congratulations to our students, faculty, and staff for this well-earned success.”
