To join the fun, simply visit any of the participating venues during the event dates. Guests are encouraged to purchase a Misfits Bar Crawl OBX t-shirt and postcard, which can be stamped at each location visited. Collect all 15 stamps to earn a sticker and be entered into a raffle for the chance to win exciting prizes. Three winners will be selected at the conclusion of the event.

Proceeds from postcard sales will benefit the Outer Banks Relief Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting families in times of crisis. A portion of t-shirt sales will also be donated to the foundation, allowing participants to celebrate the holidays while giving back to their community. Postcards and t-shirts are available at all participating restaurants.

All ages are welcome to participate, with some venues offering special opportunities for children, including photos with Santa Claus. For adults, there will be a trolley and adventure bus providing safe and festive transportation between venues. Full transportation details can be found at misfitsobx.com.

The Outer Banks Relief Foundation was founded with the mission of easing financial burdens when tragedy strikes local families. In 2004, the foundation was born after a community effort to support a family facing financial hardship due to a child’s battle with leukemia. Since then, the foundation has provided $3.5 million in relief funding to more than 1,400 Outer Banks families facing illness, injury or crisis.

Financial assistance from the foundation ranges from $500 to $5,000 and is used to cover essential bills like mortgage, rent, utilities and other critical household expenses. Some of the foundation’s clients face conditions such as cancer, serious blood or nerve disorders, spinal injuries and multiple sclerosis. The foundation works closely with local and national organizations to coordinate support and maximize resources, ensuring that families in need receive the help they deserve during difficult times.

The Misfits Bar Crawl OBX stands out as a unique holiday tradition that combines festive fun with charitable giving. This uniquely themed opportunity brings together the community, local businesses and visitors in a shared celebration of Christmas spirit. Event creator Jenn Crossman shares that the inspiration came from a conversation with her friend Cody, who suggested the idea of the “Misfits.” From that spark, the event grew into a community-driven celebration aimed at spreading joy and holiday cheer.
