I’ve been keeping a secret for quite some time now. For all of you who read this, you get the inside scoop on a project I am beyond excited about – a project that has taken months to prepare for and bring life to. For all of you who have been reading my columns and keeping up with my journey, this project sheds even more light on the themes which have woven themselves between the lines of my writing, and then some. I am constantly learning and working to understand how to live in a world that we are not of, something I’ve come to explore through The Bright Side. If you’ve read what I’ve had to say and are interested in learning more alongside me, I have incredible news for you: two of my closest friends, my Gypsy sisters, and I are starting a podcast. It premiers Thanksgiving Day, and God knows I’m beyond thankful for this opportunity and the chance to share it with all of you.
“Some Say I’m Gifted” is a podcast that welcomes open conversation about real people doing real things in a world that we are in, but not of. The three of us, Tess, Morgan and myself, bring listeners on a journey of teaching others the magic of walking in your own spiritual gifts. We explore anything that can cross your mind while walking down the grocery store aisle and waiting in the car pickup line: from sexuality to religious trauma to what you’re going to make for dinner tonight. We will share recipes, advice, experiences, and the magic we have found in embracing who we are through open, honest conversation. This podcast is a place where all are welcome to come and take a seat at our table. And if there’s one overarching message we can only hope all those who choose to listen will take away, it’s this: Without Yahweh’s love, we are nothing.
Episodes will drop every Thursday from Thanksgiving Day forward. You can listen on all streaming platforms, and find us on social media at “Some Say I’m Gifted.” We encourage comments, questions and would love to hear from our audience about their experiences and how walking in your own spiritual gifts has shaped your life. We will also be starting a recipe club moving forward, and touching on topics that are inquired about through our listeners.
Just by sitting in with my co-hostesses while recording our first batch of episodes, I have learned so much about myself and the world around me. And through this podcast, I have found my voice beyond this column. I have realized that it’s okay to speak up and say what Yahweh has laid on your heart – you’ll be better off for it in the end. So, for all of you who feel unheard, voiceless, repressed, and constantly fighting the things that are telling you to keep quiet, this one’s for you. This one’s for everybody who wants ways to find joy in all things, and recognize your worth, and believe that magic exists in everything God crafted. This one’s for anyone who needs a laugh and a good cry, and for everyone who needs to know you’re not alone.
“Some Say I’m Gifted” is a stepping stone in the work of The Mountain Gypsies. This podcast is also a lead-up to a highly anticipated book series, which reveals God’s glory amongst everything darkness tries to use to destroy us. And the ultimate goal of this project is to highlight the truth that sets us all free: Everyone is worthy of Yahweh’s unconditional love.
