The Town of Duck expressed thanks to the volunteers who kicked off the beach grass planting season. On Monday, volunteers planted 5,000 sprigs of beach grass at the Christopher Drive/Ocean Dunes access.
“Not only does beach grass planting help to build the dunes, it helps build our community,” noted the Town of Duck’s newsletter. “Each week, members of the community join forces to protect our environment, creating lasting friendships and making the Town of Duck a more special place.”
The next beach grass planting will continue at the Christopher Drive/Ocean Dunes access on Friday, November 15 at 1 p.m. Those who would like to join in on the fun should email Sandy Cross at scross@ducknc.gov to sign up and to be notified of future planting dates.
