Tyrrell County delegates to the Southern Albemarle Association’s 89th annual meeting gather for a group photograph while meeting at Jennette’s Fishing Pier in Nags Head. Shown in the bottom row, center of group, is 103 year-old Myrtle Mitchell, who holds the record of having attended more Southern Albemarle Association meetings than anyone else. The Southern Albemarle Association advocates for highways, bridges and ferries for the six counties south of the Albemarle Sound.
