Flounder harvest stopped for internal coastal, joint fishing waters

Marine Fisheries Proclamation FF-46-2024 maintains the closure for harvest of flounder taken for commercial purposes from internal coastal and joint fishing waters.
Quota monitored landings are approaching the total allowable landings and harvest will not re-open in 2024. This action is being taken to comply with the requirements of Amendment 3 to the N.C. Southern Flounder Fishery Management Plan and maintain harvest within the total allowable landings.
The proclamation was effective at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.
