Prospective COA students invited to test drive programs

College of The Albemarle (COA) is holding a series of “test drive” events to give prospective students hands-on exposure to career pathways before committing to a program. These events help students explore fields like computer-aided drafting (CAD), business administration, IT systems administration and theatre.
Scheduled test drives include:
Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) (virtual)
October 24, October 31, November 7, November 14

IT Systems Administration

Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) – Theatre
March 26, 2025
6-9 p.m.
COA – Elizabeth City – Performing Arts Center
Each event will provide an in-depth look into the featured program, allowing participants to engage in interactive activities, hear from instructors, and explore the coursework and career opportunities available, noted a COA news release.
The CAD program offers a virtual experience, allowing participants to explore computer-aided drafting, an essential skill in many industries such as architecture, engineering and manufacturing. Business administration will provide insights into managing businesses and leadership roles, while IT systems administration highlights the role of technology in business infrastructure. The theatre program offers a glimpse into acting, production and stage-related aspects.
Prospective students can sign up for test drive events at albemarle.edu/testdrive. These events are open to anyone interested in gaining firsthand experience in these fields before deciding on a future academic path. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
