The Dare County Parks & Recreation Department has announced the launch of a needs assessment survey, as well as a series of upcoming public drop-in sessions that will be held in various locations throughout Dare County to discuss future projects, programming and community initiatives, as well as to gather feedback from residents and property owners about the community’s preferences and priorities for recreational offerings in Dare County.

“Attending these public input sessions provides an excellent opportunity for community members to engage with McGill Associates, the firm that has been contracted to conduct the assessment,” stated a Dare County news release.

The public input meetings will be held as a drop-in format from 4-7 p.m. at designated locations listed below.

Those who are unable to attend any of the public input sessions are still strongly encouraged to provide their input by participating in the needs assessment survey. The feedback gathered from the results of this needs assessment survey will be used to aid in the prioritization of future Dare County Parks & Recreation projects, programming and initiatives, noted the release. The survey can be found at surveymonkey.com/r/DareRecSurvey.

“This is a valuable opportunity for community members to express their ideas and help prioritize future projects that will benefit the entire community,” said Dare County Public Services director Spencer Gregory. “The public’s input is essential to ensure the Dare County Parks & Recreation Department meets the community’s needs and creates spaces that everyone can enjoy. We encourage everyone to take the survey – and to attend one of these public input sessions and participate in shaping the future of Dare County’s Parks & Recreation offerings.”
