The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce is collecting gift cards to support the recovery efforts of those in western North Carolina who have been affected by Hurricane Helene.
“The goal is to raise $5,000 worth of gift cards (Home Depot, Walmart, Food Lion, Lowe’s, etc) to be sent to chambers of commerce in the Boone/Blowing Rock/Asheville region for distribution to those in need,” stated a chamber news release. “While not all of their stores are operable at present, the road to recovery will be lengthy for this beloved region and we want to do what we can to help them.”
Those who would like to contribute should reach out to the Outer Banks Chamber at 252-441-8144. The link where contributions can be made via the chamber’s website is Outerbankschamber.com/helpwnc.
“Our thoughts, our prayers, and our love are with our friends and colleagues, and all of the business owners and residents in western North Carolina. They have experienced devastation beyond imagination. Help us help them,” the release continued. “The Outer Banks Chamber joins you in continued prayers for western North Carolina and the other areas that are suffering.”
