A new roof for the Youth Center in Kill Devil Hills is scheduled for three weeks of work starting Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, and continuing through Monday, Nov. 18, 2024. During this time, all activities that take place within the gymnasium – including volleyball and pickleball – will be canceled.

“This planned roof replacement project is part of Dare County’s ongoing efforts to renovate and improve outdated Parks and Recreation Department facilities throughout the county over the next few years in order to better serve members of the community,” states the notice.

The after-school program will be held in the multipurpose rooms at the Dare County Youth Center until the replacement of the roof is complete. Any meetings scheduled in the multipurpose rooms will be held as scheduled.
