Edenton falls to Manteo in tennis

The Manteo High School varsity tennis team claimed a second win over the Edenton Holmes Aces on September 26.

Playing at the Northern Chowan Community Center courts on Virginia Road at Tyner, the visiting Redskins scored wins in five of six singles matches and won all three doubles.

Earlier this season, Manteo scored a 7-2 win over the Aces.

Thursday’s win gives Manteo a 7-5 record overall and a 3-4 conference slate. The loss leaves Edenton Holmes at 5-9 overall and 2-6 in the conference.

First Flight and Currituck are at the top of conference standings with 7-0 and 6-1 respective records.

Manteo is scheduled to be back in action again at 4:30 p.m. October 1 with a home match against Northeastern High School from Elizabeth City.
