Two from Virginia arrested on drug charges in Nags Head

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Virginia man and woman on drug charges following a traffic stop in Nags Head.
According to a DCSO news release, on August 6, 2024, at around 7:10 p.m., DCSO’s A District conducted a traffic stop in the 6900 block of Hwy 158 in Nags Head.
The release stated that during the stop, probable cause was established to search the vehicle and cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana and paraphernalia were located and seized.
Drake Eric Hermann, 28, of Hampton, Va., was arrested and charged with felony possession of a scheduled I and II controlled substance and received a $30,000 secured bond. Hermann was also cited for the possession of misdemeanor marijuana and misdemeanor marijuana paraphernalia.
Elizabeth Anne Saunders, 39, of West Point, Va., was arrested and charged with felony possession of a scheduled I controlled substance and given a $7,500 secured bond. Saunders was also cited for the misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor marijuana paraphernalia, and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia.
