Donna “DJ” Jones, licensed practical nurse at Outer Banks Health Family Medicine – Kitty Hawk, was named Outer Banks Health Team Member of the Month for July.

Jones joined the team in August 2013 and has been an invaluable team member ever since, stated the announcement of her award. “She consistently displays honesty, transparency, and trustworthiness with patients and colleagues. She recognizes that healthcare is a collaborative effort and enjoys being able to work seamlessly with everyone on her team,” the announcement continued.

Jones takes initiative in her role as she manages inventory and ordering supplies for the practice, and has integrated new recall systems into her process. “She exhibits integrity and compassion every day, and she enjoys doing her job and doing it well. She goes above and beyond to care for patients,” the release continued. As one team member put it, “She is loved by all staff and patients … We are truly lucky to have such a competent nurse on our team.”
