OBX Baseball 12U All Stars won the Tar Heel League District 7 – 12U All Stars Tournament in Ahoskie and advance to the Tar Heel League State Tournament to be held July 25-28 in Hickory.

The local team is one of eight teams in North Carolina to advance to state tournament.

This is the first OBX 12U team to win district tournament in the Tar Heel League. This team won the Summer Bash Tournament in Chesapeake, Va. earlier this summer, warm up tournament before districts. This team is the All Star team from the 12U OBX Baseball League made up of the All Stars from three teams that played spring ball.

Since forming, this team is 9-1 going into the state tournament.

Players are Silas Shelton, Sawyer Shelton, Graham Perrot, Brooks Dunn, Van Davis, Ozzie Finch, Gavin Taboada, Luke Newell, David Newell, Kadence Jennings, Gavin Gillespie and Tegan Harris. The team’s head coach is Zane Gillespie and assistant coaches are Dien Davis, Mike Dunn and Sam Finch.
