To earn Cognia accreditation, a school district must also implement a continuous improvement process and submit to internal and external review. Schools in good standing can maintain their accreditation for a six-year term.

“Since implementing our district and curricular strategic plans three years ago, we have seen inspiring positive momentum, and we know our district is making significant gains in the right direction,” shared Superintendent Dr. Matt Lutz. “Going through the accreditation process has validated our work and enabled us to showcase the collective efforts of our dedicated staff and incredible students. Earning accreditation demonstrates Currituck County Schools’ unwavering commitment to excellence.”
