On Nov. 24, 2023, Tavern on 12 and Hatteras Island Meals will host a fundraising event at the Hatteras Village Civic Center featuring the Songs from the Road Band.
Songs from the Road Band is an Asheville, North Carolina based bluegrass super-group featuring Mark Schimick on mandolin, Charles Humphrey III on bass, Sam Wharton on guitar, James Schlender on fiddle, and Gabe Epstein on banjo.
The band rolls in with virtuosic picking, singing, and Grammy Award-winning songwriting. Several of the band’s most recent singles have gone to the top of the Bluegrass Today Grassicana chart. They have six studio albums available at all music outlets.
Tickets for the event are $30 and include a buffet dinner and a four-hour performance from 6 until 10 p.m. Tickets are available at Tavern on 12 and at the door the night of the event.
All proceeds benefit Hatteras Island Meals, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This locally funded and all-volunteer staffed organization, provides over 9,000 meals yearly to Hatteras Island neighbors. Additional information is available on the Hatteras Island Meals or Tavern on 12 Facebook pages.
“Please join us for a rare opportunity to see a performance of this caliber on Hatteras Island and support a great Hatteras Island cause,” invited organizers.
