Goldsboro man arrested after fleeing from attempted traffic stop

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Goldsboro man who fled from an attempted traffic stop, both by vehicle and on foot.
According to a DCSO press release, on July 13, 2023 at around 10:38 p.m., a DCSO deputy working the A-District attempted to pull over a vehicle for speeding in the area of Billy’s Seafood on Colington Road.
“The vehicle did not stop and continued towards Colington Harbor where it wrecked at the Colington Methodist Church,” stated the release. “The driver of the vehicle then fled on foot and after a short pursuit was taken into custody.”
Johnathan Q. Acree, 19, of Goldsboro, was arrested and charged with felony fleeing to elude with a motor vehicle and cited for reckless driving.
Acree was given a $5,000 secured bond.
