Kill Devil Hills man arrested on drug, concealed weapon charges

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Kill Devil Hills man on drug and concealed weapon charges following a traffic stop.
According to a DCSO press release, on June 9, 2023 at around 11:40 p.m., deputies working the A-District conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the 1100 block of Colington Road in Kill Devil Hills.
“During the traffic stop a DCSO K-9 alerted to the presence of a controlled substance,” stated the release. “A search of the vehicle was conducted and an amount of Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, Marijuana Paraphernalia and brass knuckles were located and seized.”
Rodal Eric Dowdy, 44, of Kill Devil Hills, was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of crack cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of a concealed weapon.
Dowdy was given a $10,000 secured bond.
