October 19, 1997 – June 12, 2023

Rodanthe, NC – Elijah O’Neal Midgette, born 9lbs 3oz on Sunday, October 19, 1997, was absent from his body and present with his Lord on Monday, June 12, 2023. A scholar of English and Religion. More than a writer – an artist of words, a Poet. Lover of Life. A See-er of people and the wonder on earth, recognizing the complexity and purpose of all, which was not confined to the earth. He had solutions and hope that he shared. His Light is as eternal as the Source of it.

Passing on before him are his sister Jazania Joy Midgette, grandparents Arval and Jazania O’Neal, Bobby and Judy Midgette, uncle Eddie O’Neal, and aunt Sharon Powers. Remaining behind are his parents/best friends Jonna and Robert Midgette, sister Jorah Midgette, godparents Wanda and Gary Sherman, grandmother Joanne Cartwright, aunts and uncles Sandra O’Neal, Jerald O’Neal, Joey and Virginia O’Neal, Anna Cargill, Susan and Cindy Cartwright, Byron Wilson, and many Cousins as close as brothers and sisters. Among many Christian brothers and sisters are Boldness Bentile, Jeremy Jackson, Brad Ward, and Ivey Johnson. Countless dear friends meant everything to him and importantly, there are God-sent mentors, teachers, providers, employers, and pastors who regarded him as a friend more than a subject and all of whom he deeply treasures still, beyond where we yet can see.
