North Carolina General Statute §143-355(1) requires each unit of government that provides water service to the public periodically update their water shortage response plan (WSRP).  All WSRPs are required to be submitted to the Department of Environmental Quality, and must also be adopted by each unit’s governing board.  A 30-day public comment period is required before the plan can be adopted by the Board of Commissioners at its June 14, 2023, meeting.

The public may view the draft water shortage response plan in the Office of the Town Clerk, 102 Town Hall Drive; the Public Services Department, 107 Town Hall Drive; the Kill Devil Hills Library, 400 Mustian Street; or on Kill Devil Hills’ website, www.kdhnc.com.  Written comments, which will be included with the record of the public meeting, may be submitted to the Town Clerk, P.O. Box 1719, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948, or by e-mail to:  info@kdhnc.com.
