The Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is a consumer information division of the North Carolina Department of Insurance that assists people with Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage and long-term care insurance questions. It also helps citizens recognize and prevent Medicare billing errors and possible fraud and abuse through the NC Senior Patrol Program.

Lisa Barker, northeast regional SHIIP manager, recently recognized Tyrrell SHIIP volunteers Dee Furlough (30 years), Dee Dee Bullock (20 years), Lisa Barker and Michelle Haney (10 years) for their service.
